Attempt

  • Strengthening quality and food safety management

Our Group has established a "Quality Policy" to comply with laws and regulations and promote the safety of our products, and has obtained quality management system certification (ISO9001) for our head office (business, corporate) and development departments in addition to our production departments, and unified the certification for our head office, development departments, and production departments in February 2024. In addition, our production departments have obtained food safety management system certification (ISO22000 or FSSC22000).
All employees work together to improve the quality of our operations, from product planning and design to the manufacturing process, quality inspection, inventory management, transportation and delivery, and the administrative departments that support these processes.
The number of non-conformities identified in the external audit in fiscal 2024 was one related to quality management and one related to food safety management.
We also work continuously with our partner companies (contractors) to reduce quality risks.

  • Initiatives regarding product display

We comply with laws and regulations such as food labeling standards by creating and revising our labels, and we also work with industry groups and Group companies to ensure that our labels are accurate and easy to understand. We also analyze customer feedback and work daily to improve our labeling to make it easier to understand. We also disclose information about the origins of ingredients, allergens, manufacturing Plant, and other information about Household use products on our website.

  • Ensuring the safety of raw materials

We source many of our raw materials from overseas. The most common are soybean, rapeseed, and palm oil, with soybean imported primarily from the United States and Brazil, rapeseed from Canada and Australia, and palm oil from Malaysia and Indonesia. Olive oil, a popular Household use oils and fats, is imported from Spain, Italy, Australia, and other countries. We ensure the safety of many of our imported raw materials in cooperation with industry associations and through our own monitoring. We also ensure the safety of a variety of other raw materials when we procure them.

    Genetically modified raw materials

Currently, genetically modified crops used around the world to produce vegetable oil include soybean, rapeseed, corn, and cotton (cottonseed). Our Group procures genetically modified crops that have been scientifically verified for safety by the government and approved for import as "genetically unsorted" (treating genetically modified crops without distinction between genetically modified crops and conventional crops), and uses them as raw materials for vegetable oil.
