Contribution to the community
Plant initiatives
Our Group has production bases all over the country, and we value our relationships with the people in each community. Each production base has been working to improve its business activities from various angles by listening to the opinions and requests of the local people through daily interactions with the local people. Each production base, including the Shizuoka Office, Yokohama Plant, and Kobe Plant, has been engaged in cleanup activities for some time with the objectives of "contributing to the local community and environment," "beautifying the surrounding area," "raising employees' environmental awareness," and "strengthening labor-management cooperation."
In response to the large-scale water outage that occurred in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka Prefecture in October 2022 due to the effects of Typhoon Hagibis, our Shizuoka office distributed drinking water and water for daily use to local residents and facilities. We will continue to engage in dialogue with local residents to work on solving issues in each region and aim to further coexist with local communities by contributing to them even in times of disaster.Shizuoka Office: Cleaning up Miho-Masaki Beach Shizuoka Office Water supply situation Sponsoring the “Kobe Olive Festival”

Afterwards, parent-child pairs used our edible oils to try cooking snacks and fried foods. Participants commented, "Even though I put in a lot of vegetables, my child ate it all up in no time," and "I was afraid of frying at home, so I was glad that I could experience it with my child using oil that doesn't splash."
Parents and children having a cooking experience Tasting the cooked food "Children's Japanese Food Session" Booth Exhibit
In July 2024, we exhibited a booth at the summer vacation food education experience event "Children's Japanese Food Session". This event was co-hosted by the Japanese Food Culture National Conference and the Hattori Gakuen Hattori Nutrition College, with the aim of providing children with an opportunity to experience "Japanese food" and increase their interest. At our booth, under the theme of "Learn about vegetable oil and have fun!", we exhibited panels on the types of vegetable oil, the manufacturing process, and the history of vegetable oil. In addition, to make vegetable oil more familiar to visitors, we showed videos of the manufacturing process of soybean and canola, and displayed actual samples of each manufacturing process, clearly introducing the process until it is commercialized. As an experience program, we held an "oil rice ball" making event, where visitors could experience how adding vegetable oil can make rice Good taste better for longer and experience the flavor of each type of vegetable oil.
